Iron Horse - a history
Iron Horse Bicycle Company, LLC was founded in 1987 and is a bicycle brand based on Long Island, New York. Iron Horse originally built a name for itself with a combination of innovative bicycle designs, aggressive pricing, and a top-notch racing program. The line has grown to over 40 models of mountain bikes, road bikes, comfort bikes, juvenile bikes, and hybrids.
  Iron Horse's use of top frame designs has set it apart in the cycling industry. When introduced a decade ago, the patented A-frame design set an industry standard for stiffness and durability. Iron Horse's dual suspension models are at the cutting edge of frame design. Iron Horse's  'dw-link' and four-bar frame designs have received rave reviews from the press and riders for their handling and top shelf components.



Iron Horse team was catapulted into the world spotlight in 1992 when a young Dave Cullinan captured the downhill World Championship at Bromont, Canada. In the mid 1990s the Iron Horse Pro Team was the most dominant team in downhill mountain bike racing. The list of riders who have ridden under Iron Horse colors reads like a "who's-who" of the mountain bike world. Dave Cullinan, Kim Sonier, Penny Davidson, Toby Henderson, Leigh Donovan, and "Pistol" Pete Loncarevich are just some of the riders who have been part of past Iron Horse teams.
  In 2003, Iron Horse was at the top of the World Cup Series again. Iron Horse team rider Nathan Rennie won the UCI World Cup Point Series. Teammate, Sam Hill defended his title as Jr. World Cup Champion in 2003 and recently finished first at the 2004 Australian Nationals.
